Issues Facing our District:
  • Our facilities are in need of major improvements and repairs
  • Our classrooms are overcrowded
  • Our infrastructure does not support current and future advances in technology
  • Our curriculum is struggling to keep pace with State standards, and is not adequately preparing our students for their future success

My Vision For the Brea Olinda Unified School District:

As a community, it is my vision that we will work together to move our schools forward and meet the demands of our 21st Century educational standards. Every child deserves to be provided with the opportunity to learn in a safe, and nurturing environment. Together we must ensure the support, safety, health, and well-being of our children. Educational engagement, along with a fun and challenging learning environment will empower our children to excel. In order to achieve this vision, I propose the following:

  • Ensure that our schools are up to code with California State Standards in Facility Management to ensure the safety of our children, teachers, staff, and administrators
  • Help our schools integrate technology into the learning environment to prepare our students for the jobs of the future
  • Ensure that the infrastructure of our facilities has the flexibility for future upgrades and improvement of classroom technology
  • Collaborate with our teachers and administrators to provide needed training and supplies to keep our students actively engaged in the learning process
  • Incorporate diverse points of view by engaging stakeholders, such as teachers, administrators, parents, and most importantly our students
  • Ensure that our schools are in compliance with State curriculum standards that foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
  • Promote transparency to foster an environment of accountability where concerns from our community are acknowledged and addressed
